The Retreat, Topia is coming out of the starting blocks early

The second stage of the Meriton group’s The Retreat community neighbouring Sydney Olympic Park is coming out of the starting blocks early on the back of firing sales in the initial stage.

The Harry Triguboff-headed group launched The Retreat in 2017 and has sold 80 per cent of the available apartments in stage one, Aura. Crowned by a 4 bedroom penthouse, sold for $2.27m.

“It seems we got our timing just right — the world has woken up to what a great lifestyle is on offer in the Olympic Park precinct,” said Mr Triguboff.

“To say the area is a hotspot is something of an under-statement.’’

Mr Triguboff said Meriton named its master-planned project The Retreat because it offered an escape from hustle, bustle and stress.

“The project’s a shining star in the Meriton development portfolio and we are hastening stage two to keep the momentum going.”

The Retreat will have an on-site childcare centre and a retail precinct with a full-line supermarket and specialty outlets.

Residents will be a 650-metre walk from the Olympic Park train station and on the doorstep of the proposed stage two Parramatta light rail.

Stage one of The Retreat consists of two elliptical 22-level buildings, designed by SJB Architects, with Meriton retaining one of the towers and selling the 149 apartments in the other tower.

Stage two, already under construction and to be launched on March 17 2018, is Topia, a 13-level building with 190 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and terraces, some split-level. Residents at new stage Topia, as well as having The Retreat’s 2000sqm central park on their doorstep, will have a 20-metre heated indoor pool, sauna and spa, and gymnasium and quick access to Olympic Park’s vast areas of parkland.

Internal areas will range from 50 to 107sqm and many apartments, in addition to elevated views, will have separate study rooms and landscaped roof terraces.

Flawless architecture and interior design delivers a timeless yet contemporary colour palette. Kitchens are fit with European SMEG stainless steel appliances, smoked mirror splashback and barback and finished with Caesarstone benchtops.

The sophisticated interiors in the kitchen carry through to the bathrooms, where elegant lines and neutral tones take centre stage.

The Retreat, a master-planned community, once complete will comprise of 1338 apartments on a 5.17ha property at 5 Carter Street bought for $245 million in 2015.

With prices starting from $650,000, Topia offers first home buyers the opportunity to enter the market. Meriton, is also offering Topia buyers fixed-interest finance, and stamp-duty discounts.
