Australia’s beautiful summer weather usually means sun, sand and ice creams, but it also signals the start of mosquito season, and this year is set to be worse than normal.
“Strong levels of new home starts underpinned one of the strongest years of residential building activity on record. Results for the second half of the year reflect the softening that have been evident in the broader housing market,” said HIA Senior Economist, Geordan Murray.
“After a sustained boom over recent years, residential building activity in Victoria continues to cool” said Fiona Nield, HIA Executive Director, Victoria.
