The Housing Industry Association (HIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Luis Espinoza as its new Executive Director for the Northern Territory.
As the HIA regional director, Luis will be the voice for the residential building industry in the Northern Territory, providing help, advice, information and support for members.
Mr Espinoza is a long term Territory resident and has lived in Darwin for the last 37 years after relocating from Sydney.
He has a building design and drafting background, having worked for a number of architectural firms, structural engineers and his own small business experience.
Mr Espinoza has a vast knowledge of the teaching and training sector. He was employed at Charles Darwin University, where he taught CAD, drafting and construction to engineering and drafting students for 8 years.
For the past 7 years, he headed the building construction team, including carpentry, construction, drafting and plumbing, dealing with lecturers, apprentices and employers.
Mr Espinoza is a strong advocate for ‘women in construction’ and actively promotes construction as a pathway for women interested in the typically male dominated trades.
“I am honoured to be appointed to the role of Executive Director in the Northern Territory for HIA. The Northern Territory is currently seeing a surge in activity in the local residential building market. It’s exciting to be on the front line to offer support, as our members gear up for future growth,” said Mr Espinoza.
HIA is delighted to welcome Mr Espinoza aboard. His skills and experience will be an asset to HIA and our members as the Northern Territory embarks on a period of growth.
