BVN wins at the Melbourne Design Awards

BVN won a gold and a silver prize at the DRIVENXDESIGN Melbourne Design Awards, announced on the 17 May 2018.

The gold prize was won in the Urban Design category for Bunurong Memorial Park, designed in association with ASPECT Studios.

Bunurong is a reimagining of the urban cemetery as a place for the celebration of life. It is designed around a set of distinctive gardens, the arrangement works as a set of connected intimate and public spaces that are bound by ‘quiet’ buildings with transparent portals that open directly to the garden setting.

The result is a space that hosts celebrations and activities from weddings to memorial services.

The silver winner is in the newly created Co-Working and Studio Space category, Space & Co is a co-working space that responds to the growing demand for greater flexibility in workplaces and property leases. The amenity-rich space includes, bespoke workstations and dedicated workspaces that are complemented by meeting areas, board rooms, and a café to create a space designed for the cross pollination of ideas and member engagement.

According to Project Director Sally Campbell, Space & Co’s success is due to the ongoing relationship between GPT and BVN that continues to build upon the strengths from previous collaborations.

Winners will receive trophies at a cocktail event held at Higher Ground on 16 August 2018. The Best of the Awards Categories will be announced and awarded on the night.

Also in the running for a Sydney Design Award is the new Wilkhahn Showroom in Surry Hills.
