Five BVN projects have been included on the shortlist for the 2018 Interior Design Excellence Awards, announced Thursday 16 August 2018. Winners will be revealed at the Awards Gala in November 2018 in Sydney.
The shortlisted projects include the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre (GCSLC) which is nominated in the Public category. The GCSLC hosted the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Badminton Sudirman Cup, and now provides a legacy for the City of Gold Coast community to enjoy.
The BVN designed Gold Coast Suns Elite Training and Administration Facility which is part of the GCSLC is also shortlisted in the Workplace category.
Also shortlisted in the Workplace category is Space & Co. Located in Melbourne’s CBD, the project is part of an ongoing partnership between GPT Group and BVN. The design strategy explores the evolution of co-working and flexible leasing typologies.
Guardian Early Learning Centre – Kings Co-Op located in Bowen Hills, QLD is shortlisted in the Institutional category. The design promotes sensory learning by incorporating colour, sound, touch and smell. Variety in colour and materiality, as well as access to views, light and natural ventilation are all key to the design’s success.
Wilkhahn’s new Surry Hills showroom is shortlisted in the Retail category. It is the product of a unique partnership between BVN, Wilkhahn and The Plant Society and is on track to be the first WELL accredited retail space in Australia.
