The winners of the 2018 HIA CSR South West Housing Awards were announced at an elegant ceremony on Saturday 15 September 2018, at Black Brewing Co, Wilyabrup. It was a special night highlighting the outstanding building work and success of HIA Members in the South West Region. The event was well attended by local residential building industry representatives, manufacturers and suppliers. Master of Ceremonies Tim McMillan announced over 45 categories throughout the evening, demonstrating the variety and range of our South West builders.
2018’s awards program was well supported by the building community in the South West region, with the highest number of entries since 2012. HIA Executive Director John Dastlik commented, “It is encouraging to see a rise in entry numbers in the South West as it demonstrates the strength and resilience of our members, especially in what has been a difficult time for the industry”.
Palazzo Homes took out the 2018 HIA CSR South West Home of the Year and also won Custom Built Home of the Year for the same project in Waroona. The judges were extremely impressed with Palazzo’s pavilion style home stating, “Without exception the quality of workmanship was faultless.”
John Dastlik continued, “The residential housing industry is an extremely competitive market and HIA members are always challenging themselves to be more forward thinking and innovative. The winning projects we have seen tonight are a true reflection of the building industry’s commitment to quality construction and design.”
Other award winners included Ventura Homes South West for Golden Key Award for Display Home of the Year, ProLiving Design and Construction for Framed Home of the Year and Residential Building Designer of the Year and Apartment of the Year, BG Grieve Builder for Innovation in Housing Project of the Year, Dale Alcock Homes South West for Project Home of the Year, Express Two Storey Living for Affordable Housing Project of the Year and Resonate Homes for Liveable Home of the Year.
